I'm neither, Russ.
I guess I have several reasons for my fascination.
Even as a kid I found bulls interesting. Large, scary, powerful animals.
I also like wildlife, and think when an animal goes extinct, because of humans, it's a shame.
A bull aurochs were larger, faster, and more powerful than most of it's domesticated descendant.
They are also the first wild animal that humans took note of going extinct . That happened in 1627.
The Dodo bird was the second.
Now there's a really good chance that they're going to be brought out of extinction.
I find it hard to believe that most people aren't more fascinated by this.
As for my most recent drawing, I found the first of my artwork, posted on the internet by someone other than me.
It was my "corrected" aurochs drawing.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/europeanwi ... hotostreamTo me it just didn't look right. So I tried to figure out a way to get the right proportions.
There's an aurochs skeleton in a museum, with the silhouette what it would have looked
like. So I manipulated an image of a Bull to match the skeleton, and silhouette. I was told that the museum piece is a little off
and what needed to be corrected. That' how I ended up with the current piece.
Now I have a much better idea how to correct my first image.
