Here is an attempt of mine. It looks absolutely NOTHING like her, which is a problem with all my drawings Nor is it any good! lol What needs improving? I know the shading is horrible, I made a mistake and paniced so ended up shading it all weird.

It's not that bad Popy ... it looks like the reference photo.
The proportions could be better - you could try using a grid, or measuring carefully.
How long did it take you ? You have to take your time ...

Heres my attempt, first go at this drawing buisness. The hair proved to be a major stumbling block for me as did some of the shading.

This is my attempt, a fat Amy Lee thought I would give it a shot, really cool idea to have everyone make the same drawing, almost the same I really enjoyed doing this :p

Here is my attempt at the drawing. Please be gentle.. this is only my 3 or 4th portrait.. I gimped up her right eye a bit.. and the hair gave me fits, but I didn't want to overwork them.. Overall.. not bad I suppose.. I only spent 3 hours on it... If I had used a lot more time.. it would have been a lot better I think.

That's good Dave, I presume it was freehand...

Yes.. It's 6'X6" drawn freehand. If I used the grid the proportions would have been better.. especially on the right eye (viewers left). I didn't use any fancy paper.. just a sheet of sketch pad. My pencils ranged from 2H to 6B and a mechanical .5 2B lead. I used a gum eraser and a kneaded eraser and a large and small tortillian for blending as well as a piece of Shamwow.
