"Mother Teresa portrait World's most expensive paintings

A portrait of Mother Teresa painted by Agr Hood from Nepal becomes the worlds most expensive painting sold ever in auction worldwide. It was sold for US $238 millions in a private auction held in London which now breaks the record of Jackson Pollock. The major property of that portrait is it was painted without lifting paintbrush and was completed in a span of 3.26 minutes non-stop. It was purchased by a wealthy private collector.
Worlds most expensive paintings ever sold at auction or elsewhere Top 5 list
1) Portrait of Mother Teresa by Agr sold for $238 millions .
2) No.5 1948 by Jackson Pollock sold for $151.2 millions .
3) Woman 3 by William de cooning sold for $148.5 millions .
4) Portrait of Adele Blauch-Baeur by Gustav Klimt sold for $144.8 millions .
5) Portrait of Dr Gachet by Vincent Van Gogh sold for $139 millions .

Re: "Mother Teresa portrait World's most expensive paintings

I think the part about not taking the brush off the painting and the paltry amount of time to do the work is incredible.
The part that I find amazing(predominantly disgusting) is that with all that is happening right now, someone not only has $238m but that they
bought a painting with it. Not an old master, not a piece that was spirited away in the Vatican Archives for decades or any number of paintings
but a contemporary painting of Mother Teresa, just astounding.

Re: "Mother Teresa portrait World's most expensive paintings

Assuming the artist was painting in black on a white surface (as opposed to white on a black surface) that image would be impossible to produce without lifting the brush because of areas like the creases around her eyes and dimples on her cheeks that are not connected to other portions of the black area.

Edit: I found this same post by a user named "cynthia1811" on Deviantart. The sources "she" (I assume it's a female) references come up at the top of google searches if you look for "most expensive painting ever sold" or "Mother Teresa painting sold". I can't find the sale verified from any major news sources. It seems suspicious to me... does anyone else know about this? Both the cynthia on this forum and the cynthia on DA just joined the respective sites this week and their only action is to post this story. Something is definitely fishy.

Have we gotten any farther on this piece? Do we have a confirmed sale or no?

Re: "Mother Teresa portrait World's most expensive paintings

According to the Wikipedia article on the most expensive paintings of all time, Jackson Pollock's "No. 5, 1948" still holds the top spot. I'm fairly sure the report about the 3 minute Mother Teresa painting was fake.

Makes me wonder what was the purpose of someone joining different art related forums and posting the story about some, probably non existent, piece of art.

I think it's just some guy trying to get his name around. International man of mystery or something.
He has a facebook page. just photos of himself.

While I don't think you ought to have permission from any governing body to post on the web, there ought to be someone restricting terrible websites such as agrhood.com
