Custom request- Would this be offensive?

Hi!

I want to commission someone to do a pencil potrait of a couple so I can give it as a wedding gift. My skills are too rusty to do something like this.

First, the wedding is early July. Did I wait too long?

Secondly, would an artist find it offensive if I request the potrait be signed in the lower right hand corner and put the date of the wedding underneath the sig? I don't like top signed potraits and the frame I have in mind has a sort of beveled glass and I thought it would look awesome to have the signature and date line up under that so it would sort of "pop" out a bit.

I sure don't want to offend anyone but I saw this at a framer's and really liked the look. I want the full wedding date written in the artist's handwriting. Do you think that would be a problem?

Do you think I waited too long? Is expecting something in about 6 weeks too soon?
