There is also a bigger market for untalented, over-marketed pop than there is for real, honest rock music. Just because people are seduced by anime's face value doesn't make it any better than our lowly "traditional graphite" art. Sure anime is another form of art, I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that it should have its own place, removed from the "traditional" graphite drawings that I post and want to view from other artists.

One major question is where is all this anime or manga posted here? I went through page 1 and there was only one piece that could be described as possibly anime.

O.K. I feel a lot safer now, whining a bit. Calling something an "art form" is fine. But there are levels of skill, finesse, originality and even the art form's evolution that might be considered. If I heard an intelligent statement of why it is that people do that form, over and over and over again, I might develop a stomach for it. Initially, the form was inventive and unique and creative. But what is its point today?
And, as for these gentlemen who hear voices and want to burn things... well, isn't it great that you can draw to stay out of trouble!
Pet peeve? Well how about, "This is my rough draft of Ruben's "Descent from the Cross". It's not really finished, but I think it'll do for now. It took fifteen minutes, but that was because I had a phone call from my agent half-way through..."

Here is another pet peeve I have: People who repeatedly post bland comments such as "looks good" or "excellent" or "nice job" and nothing more on picture after picture. When I post a picture I always like to get feedback, like "I really liked this part of your picture because..." or "You could improve on..." and I try to leave the same kind of feedback for others. When you see a member's name for commenting on 6 straight topics and they've put "nice picture" on every single one, it makes it seem like they're just a robot posting on every single topic, and don't really look at the drawings or paintings or photographs.
