Hi Kisten. Welcome. Yeah, you CAN smudge it if you want. Or you could leave it unblended. Each shading technique creates a different texture. If you are drawing a woman with delicate features, smudging will give you that effect. If you are drawing a rugged man (such as Brendan
) you can use the unblended technique.

So if I was drawing you Mr. Duey what technique would I use? A mix of blending and unblending?
