mechanical pencil texture study

this is a texture study assigned in my intro to 2d design class.
we were instructed to find textures from real life and replicate them in a symmetrical quilt-like composition

Very interesting to look at, i guess it was a very good exercise to practise handling a mechanical pencil.

I also find this an interesting exercise. I particularly like how you've done the 4 squares of blurred 'dogtooth'/chequer. To draw something blurred in the background takes skill, especially when a lot of us are focused on replicating sharp details.
