Pencil sketch of Tamsin Egerton - a first post...

Hello! I picked up a pencil last August for the first time in thirty years. After a few dodgy sketches, I stumbled across Duey's site, and had a go at the 'Lighter' & 'Eye' tutorials... with astonishing effect! Thanks Duey! Anyway, encouraged by this, I attempted my first portrait, of the actress Tamsin Egerton, in October, using run-of-the-mill Staedler pencils on run-of-the-mill Daler-Rowney cartridge paper. Here she is (and ref photo) ... now be nice.. :?

And yes, I know the highlights in the eyes are well off, but I was too excited to notice at the time...

Nice drawing.
A couple of things. Her eyes aren't quite level and one side of her nose looks larger than the other, which gives it a crooked appearance. She's a little too squared jawed in the drawing.

Thank you for the gentle welcome Russ :) Yes, she ain't perfect, but she was my first attempt at this sort of thing... I'm beginning to understand this drawing lark more & more as I go on... 'Freckled Girl' is a much smoother effort I hope...
