This is an 8"x8" Graphite.h6,hb,#2,2b,4b...so far.

Russ its good to see you start another new drawing. One question, how do get used to drawing with the wooden pencils? I personally hate them and dont know why i have a case of derwent pencils sitting next to me. I literally do all my drawing with mechanical pencils, and i draw pretty big. I just got so used to mechanical pencils that wooden pencils seem so obsolete to me. Im just weird like that! good luck on your drawing!

I got used to mechanical pencils so using something else really throws me off. Ill soon be posting the drawing im working on. cheers russ

Looks like I'm not the only one who works "all over" a drawing. I try (because i'm right handed) to work top left to bottom right but end up not and re-adding graphite all over.

Yay! Another drawing from Russ! It looks really great so far and I can't wait to see your progress.
One thing I noticed is that you use a grid that is double the size I normally use. Mine is normally one half of an inch instead of an inch. Some of my earlier drawings even used a one fourth of an inch grid Does the bigger grid make it harder to get positioning correct?
