Hi guys. Here's my third face drawing. I think the hair is a little better than previous attempts, but overall there's something a little fishy about it...can't put my finger on. But there's so much graphite on the paper now that I think I'll leave it alone..lol

They are looking better each time.
They dark heavy line around the eyes needs to be softened. Don't draw with lines, draw with shadows and shading. Even if in the reference it looks like a single line, it isn't.
Since the picture is closer, you need to finish tear ducts or darken them up if you already have them.
Other than that, work on building your tones, so the shading is more gradual and smooth.

Good job. :)

Hey Tanner! Thanks so much for your feedback - tear ducts..yeah- I knew there was something I overlooked about the eyes..lol. But yeah, I understand what you mean about lines etc. I think I was attempting to insert a thicker area of mascara worn by the lady in the photo. Maybe I should blend it more.

Thanks again :D

as tanner said need to lose those lines,,lips are not made of lines they just a different tones of shades on the skin if u lookin at it as bw portrait..also the line which define th chin and separate the head from the neck is very distracting,,ther is no line either,,there is only darker ususally the neck and brighter shadows..also as u got the shadow darker on the right side of the nose.. the whole that side of the face should be darker..other than that proportion wise is all good,,keep practising

pretty!! maybe even go back in and add another layer of shading, although i know the scan definitely makes the picture look a lot lighter than it actually is. however, even if you feel like you want to leave it alone, i think it might need some more depth/contrast. looking good!

Some good advice given here, remember, tattooists draw heavy lines..ARTISTS have tonal shades
