First post, portrait!

Hello guys! I'm new here, and would like to share my work with you :)
I started drawing December last year, and I fell in love with doing portraits. ;)
So I'm posting here in hope to get some opinions/critique and tips for my future portraits!

This is my latest portrait, it's supposed to be Emma Roberts:

Image

I made this with 4H, 2H, HB and 2B pencils.

Re: First post, portrait!

Hi and welcome,,not bad drawing at all,,,i would advice to use softer pencils,,me personally using hb as a hardest and goind down all the way to 9B.
As myself drawing portraits for a long time now,,i would say that u need to go darker in a few places,,darker lips, nose holes, darker shadows all around the face and even in the hair,,keep practising and will be all just fine
Oh maybe I'll build my house on your cloud
Here I'm tumbling for you
Stumbling through the work that I have to do
Don't mean to harm you

Re: First post, portrait!

Firstly I think you draw very well considering that you only started last year Dec.
Left eye pupil is not center though. Try to get the iris as round as possible too.
I agree with stanya on using softer pencils, it will help with shading and blending to create depth.
Are you using a paper stump or tissue paper at all?
Also, do you use a kneadable eraser for drawing? Can be useful to highlight the hair for the appearance of light.

Lovely drawing =D>
