Free Video Tutorial: How to Draw: Masterclass Ayers Rock

G’day Everyone,

I’ve just uploaded my latest free online video tutorial: Masterclass. These are 3 quick watercolour speed paintings of Ayers Rock / The Olgas that I visited recently done onsite. The video covers some ideas on composition, colour, technique and working with reference vs copying photos. I’ve tried to do some real world examples incorporating elements of “The Basics” that I’ve demonstrated in previous videos (without the need for the viewer to step out into 40 degree heat).

This can be found at:

Always love to hear comments and feedback (if nothing else, a little bit of fun & variation for a Friday).

Cheers,
Matt

Re: Free Video Tutorial: How to Draw: Masterclass Ayers Rock

zach97 - glad you like them. The Masterclass one was initially a bit of a throw away. Had one person see the basic ones and then say I shouldn't be teaching because I couldn't do anything worthwhile. This video was a bit of response to that and is proving far more popular than the basic ones (go figure). Any suggestions on a realistic one as I'll seriously consider it?!

Russ - never have been too good at keeping in the lines or doing what I'm meant to. My art director loves smooth curves on illustrations (which is a valid point) so still getting told off for it :P
