Drawing Tut's

Hi,

I did a picture yesterday and encountered my usual frustrations. Can't seem to get hair right is my main problem. I don't want to do any more to the picture as I have learned from the past this leads to ruin with erasing etc.
Would like some recommendations of tuts please.
I am looking for more advanced than absolute newbie though, I'm fed up of looking for tut's and only finding ones that tell you "hold the pencil like this, create a grid, don't forget highlights". I don't like using grids and I believe I'm getting fairly good at not using them.

I wanted to upload the picture to show you guy's, but I don't have a scanner. I took a few photo's of it but, they make it look a little weird. I think it's because I only have a 3 mega pixel camera. The camera seems to not get enough detail and makes too much detail appear where you can't see it by normal means. For example, one eye looks shaded darker than the other when in fact they look the same in real life. Also, you can see a pupil drawn on the photo when in fact I only very slightly added one and you can't see it. (The reference photo had dark eyes).

Thanks man, been waiting ages but hey, good things come to those who wait ! <----- (Guiness :o )
How did I not already know they had tuts there? I spent hours and hours on that site I love the place.

I think I'm going to have to get a scanner next week so I can show what this picture really looks like. Makes me cringe a little looking at it on here but I like it on paper despite the hair and it being unfinished. I might have to start it again if The tuts on deviant show I can't rectify it. Don't mind though, the photo is nice to draw.

Re: Drawing Tut's

You have given me the key's to a treasure chest ! ! !
Tons and Tons of amazing info there. I thought deviant art was just a place for me to find things to draw.
You have no idea how much time I have spent Googling to get a 10th of the techniques shown there. I have been reading all night and I tell you my next drawing is going to be done totaly different.

Your my hero man, what do you want for christmas?
