First Pastel Drawing - Rose

So here it is, the picture isn't great because its taken with a cellphone obviously.

Im really just looking for any criticism or comments on how I did for my first Pastel Drawing.

I like how you lightened the middle of the petals .. to give it a 3d look.
I've never tried pastels .. too messy !!

This drawing looks like it would translate well into a reference drawing for a tattoo.

I double ditto that tattoo comment! I actually had to do a double take when I first looked- I thought this was a fake post at first and it WAS a pic of a tat! I also like the careful shading of the petals and leaves- it gives a nice depth.
